Abstract Acrylic 'Pour' Painting Workshop (3D Lab)

This FUN one day workshop led by artist Kelley Cappell will introduce you to the beautiful art of acrylic 'pour' painting and help you to create finished compositions!

Acrylic pour painting is a technique used to create paintings with flowing abstract patterns. The effect is created by combining acrylic paint with a liquid medium. This mixture is then “poured” onto a surface and spread around by means of tilting the surface or manually manipulating the paint.

The results are FUN and abstract! You will complete 4 paintings!

No previous art experience is required. (for 16+)

Included in class registration:

  • Four 11" x 14" primed(painted white) canvases. 
  • WSS will provide instruction and other art materials in registration.

Discover the world of Gouache painting in this introductory class! Whether you are a beginner or looking to learn new painting techniques. Sign up on your own or with family or friends.

Gouache classes will cover a variety of topics, including painting techniques, color control, and composition.

  • learn techniques such as layering, blending, brushwork, and dry brushing 
  • learn how to control color, texture, and saturation  
  • create representational or non-representational abstract art piece 

Gouache is a water-soluble, opaque medium that's similar to watercolor but has some advantages over it. It's often described as a mix between oil paints and watercolor, and its flat, bright tones can be a nice change from oils. Gouache is also forgiving and easy to learn, making it a good medium for beginners and beyond.
