Art Explorers: 2-D and 3-D Studio Adventures!

Dive into the colorful world of creativity with our Art Explorers 6-week classes designed just for middle school artists! Whether you're passionate about drawing, painting, printmaking, or fiber arts, this is your chance to unleash your imagination and discover new artistic talents.

In 2-D Studio Adventures, you'll experiment with a variety of mediums and techniques to bring your ideas to life on paper and canvas. Sketch, paint, and print your way through fun projects that challenge your skills and spark your creativity. From vibrant watercolor landscapes to intricate printmaking patterns, every class is a new opportunity to explore and express yourself!

In 3-D Studio Adventures, get ready to turn your artistic visions into tangible masterpieces. Sculpt, mold, and craft using exciting materials like clay, wire, and fabric. Learn the magic of creating 3-dimensional art, from textured clay sculptures to imaginative fiber art pieces. Feathered Friends: Birders Drawing & Watercolor Workshop Ages 19+ (North Classroom)

Calling all bird lovers! Enjoy the arrival of our feathered friends this Fall. Join this fun introduction level two week watercolor pencil and drawing class.  

Each week students will identify, journal, sketch, and add color to new works of art. Learn bird anatomy, feather patterns, traits and habitats while enjoying a fun adventure to Birdland!

Learn the step by step basics of drawing stunning, realistic birds who live in our area. Each student will learn to draw birds using watercolor pencil and watercolor paint. 

*Students will also learn traits, habits and migration in this wonderful world of birds class.

 Supplies needed for first week of class:

  • Small Sketchbook
  • 2 HB pencils
  • Watercolor paper or pad
  • Small water container
  • All reference bird guide helpful

For Ages 19+ interested in bird study.

Brush Up on The Art Masters Series 1 (3-D Classroom)

Discover fascinating secrets of Rembrandt, Michaelangelo & DaVinci. 

This is the first of the Masters one day, 3 part series featuring artists beginning from the Renaissance through the Romantic art movement.

During this 2 hours experience, we will glimpse into their world. After discussion, students have an opportunity to choose a piece to replicate and enjoy sketching, painting and creating in this well loved style guided by a instructor.

Enjoy a friendly atmosphere while creating you own masterpiece.

Invite friends and family... all ages and skill level welcome.  Students under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Fall into Fall Watercolor Painting Workshop for Adults (18+)(North Classroom)

Enjoy the beauty of the Fall season and create your own vibrant watercolor landscape in this guided two hour class with experienced nature artist, Jill Adzia.

Students will explore using colored pencils and classic watercolor paints to create lovely autumn scenes with rich fall colors.

Students will be guided in watercolor techniques, included color mixing, and use of perspective.  Students will learn how to use the  tools needed to be successful with watercolor landscapes.

Come enjoy and learn the secrets of watercolor landscape! Perfect get together class for friends and family! This is a two hour workshop.

18th Century Botanical Watercolor (3D Classroom)

Do you want to celebrate spring botanicals and paint your own amazing watercolors?

Join this Class with resident artist, Meaghan Green, and learn how to paint your own watercolor botanicals over 2 weeks!

Beautiful and bright, hand-water colored botanical prints became all the rage in 18th century England. In the wake of the Enlightenment period, artists and explorers carefully studied flora and fauna of all kinds and created detailed and informative sketches of their findings. In this course, we will follow in the footsteps of these inquisitive artists and carefully observe seasonal botanical samples, then create our own hyper realistic water-colored sketches. In addition to sketching and watercolor techniques, students will learn about the rich history of these botanical watercolors and the culture that produced them.

*No previous knowledge of watercolor is required; all skill levels are welcome! for 16+

* Supplies not included in this session. Please bring your own supplies.
