Looking for a interactive activity to do with family that will last beyond a day?

Learn how to make your own sensory bins and have your child incorporate their distinctive touch.

This is an immersive experience that will extend beyond the classroom, as parents will take home knowledge on how to incorporate sensory play into their daily living, and children will leave with two mini personalized sensory bins! (2 per child.)

All supplies are provided by WSS!

Fall Watercolor Painting and Pencil Techniques for Adults (18+)(North Classroom)

Join WSS artist Jill Adzia for Nature Watercolor Painting and Pencil technique class. (For 18 +) Students will learn a variety of watercolor and watercolor pencil techniques. Students will celebrate fall, students will explore painting colorful fall leaves, foliage and more! 

This watercolor class is for anyone interested in learning the step by step basics of Watercolor painting. 

Jill will lead you through an easy to learn "Still Life" composition.... first practicing  color mixing, color washes, "wet on wet", "wet on dry"exercises.  Students will  learn and explore using  highlights, lowlights, perspective and the use of shadows during  the class lessons. 

Each week will be another adventure into the beautiful world of Watercolor painting! 

Please purchase basic watercolor supplies needed for first class:

  • Sketchbook (Your choice of size)
  • 2B Pencil
  • Kneaded eraser
  • Roll of masking tape
  • Watercolor Pad 9 X 12 inch

Introduction to Color Pencil Drawing( North Classroom)

This class is a five week comprehensive introduction to colored pencil drawing techniques. Students will learn techniques for drawing using colored pencil, to achieve beautiful painterly effects. Students will leave class with new colored pencil drawing skills and finished works of art. For 16+

Curriculum will include:

  • How to use different drawing strokes to achieve results.
  • How to effectively layer colors for painterly techniques
  • How to use Color Theory to increase the drama of your artwork.
  • and more! 

Starting with an underlaying drawing, the blending of layers of color will give a painterly quality to the drawings. Students will learn about additional tools that will help achieve the desired effects to their drawing. Students will start with a tutorial lesson, then students will work on their own drawings with the guidance of the instructor.

Students should bring references and ideas for drawings they would like to create.

*If a repeat session is offered, it could be ongoing for students to continue their projects and refine their drawing skills.

This is a 5 Week Course.  NO Class on November 28th.
