Oil Pastel is a relatively modern medium. The current version was created in 1949 at the request of Henri Goetz on behalf of his friend Pablo Picasso. Goetz asked art materials manufacturer Henri Sennelier to develop a stick that allowed artists to paint freely without technical restraints on any surface. The result was an oil-based stick of paint. Picasso adopted the medium and artists have been using it ever since. If you are new to painting, oil pastels is a fun introduction to it!
Art Materials are included in this class, including use of house oil pastels, paper, and drawing tools.
*Class can be repeated to refine and build skills.
