Beginning Wheel Throwing Part II(Clay Lab)

This course is recommended for students who have taken a beginning wheel-throwing class. This class will meet Thursdays from 7:15 pm to 9:45 pm. Participants will continue to build their skills by throwing new forms to create different types of shaped bowls, mugs, cups, and vases. They will learn how to center larger 3+ lbs. balls to make 6”-8” tall containers, Mishima carving techniques, slip texture, and a little manipulation of forms. In addition to dunking and brushing glazes, marbling, and blending glazes will be demonstrated for more elaborate finishes.
Throughout the class, students are eligible to use open studio hours Fri/Sat/Sun, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. A total of 84 extra hours for you to create work out of class time.
This course can be repeated as needed.
Note: Designed for ages 16 and above. A 25-pound bag of clay, glazes, and kiln firings are included in the course. Attempt to utilize open studio hours to continue to practice your skills.

*All Students must clean up and leave Clay Lab by 4pm when the building closes to the public.
