Acrylic Painting for Beginners

This six-week course led by artist Kelley Cappell will introduce you to the beauty of acrylic painting while you create several finished compositions. A focus on simple subject matter such as animals, florals, landscapes, and still life ensures that you can confidently learn and practice basic acrylic techniques. No previous art experience is required. Course# PNT101.321.01  

Note: Designed for ages 16 and above. All supplies are provided. 9"x12" canvases will be provided. Students may bring in larger canvases if desired. No class on 7/5/21.

For your safety, masks are required until fiurther notice.

Acrylic Painting for Young Artists (age 12-16)

This five-week course for young artists led by artist Kelley Cappell will introduce you to the beauty of acrylic painting and help you to create several finished compositions. A focus on simple subject matter such as florals, landscapes, and still life ensures that you can confidently learn and practice basic acrylic techniques. Course# PNT107.321.01

Introduction to Oil Painting

with Christopher Beaty

Calendar Jul 7, 2021 at 6:30 pm, runs for 7 weeks

Learn to paint with oils in this seven-week class with Chris Beaty MFA! While the focus will be on developing your own unique style and creativity, the course also covers basic terms, materials, and techniques. Learn concepts such as color theory, perspective, spatial relationships, and composition.

You will also study still life in various painting styles and art movements in the historical context. Demonstrations as well as group and individual critiques are provided throughout the course. Course#PNT105.321.01

What you will need:

Paint: titanium white, ultramarine blue, cadmium red, alizarin crimson, cadmium yellow, ivory black and yellow ochre .

Misc. Supplies: #1/ #3/ #5 round brushes, #4 filbert brush, and 3/8” flat brush; Liquin Original medium; bar of ivory soap and plastic soap container, paper palette, diamond shaped palette knife, old kitchen towel (approx. 12” x 18”), clean baby food jar and lid.

 For safety, masks are required until further notice.
