Watercolor Painting for Beginners - Online
with Kevin Hunter

Join artist Kevin Hunter on a journey into the beautiful medium of watercolor. Taught online through instructional videos and live Zoom sessions, beginner students will develop their painting skills through exercises and projects that introduce a variety of watercolor techniques. The course includes an instructional video each week. Also included is a weekly group Zoom session with the instructor for guidance, helpful critique, and/or questions about your work.
What you will need for the course:
- One Burnt Sienna (Blick # 00319-8040) - One Winsor Violet (Blick # 00319-6740) - One Winsor Newton Cotman BlueBox Set of 12 half pans (Blick # 00337-1109).
- One Arches Watercolor Block (very important that you purchase the block) - cold press, 9”x12”, 20 sheets (Blick item #10020-1003)
- Three Blick Master Stroke Golden Taklon Watercolor Brushes: (1) one inch flat (Blick item #09017-1001), (2) No. 10 round (Blick item #09015-1010), (3) Script Liner Size 2 (Blick item #09014-1002)

The course runs Jan. 13 - Feb. 24 (date of final Zoom session). Zoom sessions are every Wednesday at 7 p.m. beginning Jan. 20. Links to access instructional videos and Zoom sessions are sent through email prior to the course start date.

A Taste of Glass Bead Making
with Victoria Belz

Curious about glass beads? In this sampler workshop, you’ll explore the ancient, yet simple Venetian technique of melting and layering Italian soft glass in a 2000° flame to create your own one of a kind glass beads. Course# GLS100.220.01
Note: For ages 16 and above. Fee includes all tools, glass, use of a torch, and safety materials.
For safety, this workshop is limited to three (3) participants and masks are required.
Beginning Borosilicate Glass Marble Workshop
with Victoria Belz

Learn the flameworking technique of marble making using borosilicate glass rods. You’ll learn how to gather glass and shape it in a marble mold - creating a beautiful shiny orb. With the help of your instructor, you’ll practice making a single-color transparent marble and a frit/stringer decorated marble. Course# GLS104.221.01
Note: Marbles will be available for pick up approx. 48 hours after they are annealed in the kiln. Fee includes all supplies. For safety, enrollment is limited and masks are redquired.
Mixed Media Paper Design

Have an Artistic Friday and handcraft gorgeous, one-of-a-kind art papers using a variety of mediums under the guidance of mixed media artist Sabrina Martin. Not only will you enjoy the process, you will be amazed at the results of your efforts and be inspired by examples of how to use or display the papers at home. All materials are provided. Acrylic Painting for Beginners - Online
with Esteen Lauri Feldshriber

Discover the fundamentals of acrylic painting and explore various approaches to handling this versatile medium. Techniques in building washes, layered glazes, and other methods will be demonstrated in this online course taught by Wisconsin artist Esteen Lauri Feldshriber.
You’ll develop and refine skills to create the effects of light and color in still life and nature painting. Individual expression and experimentation will be encouraged with direct observation of subject matter either the instructor provides or guides the student to document at home.
The course includes several instructional videos each week. Zoom sessions begin with discussion of topics covered in the videos and includes guidance and helpful critique about your work. Students should also plan to paint along with the instructor during each Zoom session.
The course runs Jan. 25 - Feb. 22 (final Zoom session). Zoom sessions are every Monday, 7-8:30 p.m.. Links to access instructional videos, Zoom sessions, and supply list are sent through email prior to the course start date.

Metalsmithing for Jewelry Fabrication

Design and create one-of-a-kind personalized jewelry. Explore jewelry fabrication using basic metalsmithing techniques. This four-week course will cover sawing, piercing, sanding, hand stamping, texturing, forming, and finishing. Each week you can create one or more unique pieces of copper or sterling silver jewelry. Projects may include earrings, pendants, bracelets, or rings. No experience necessary. Course# MTL100.221.01
Note: For ages 16 and above. Fee includes metal to complete at least four projects and access to the instructor’s studio tools and equipment.

Simple Glass Pendant Workshop
with Victoria Belz

Glass sparkles and shines like no other material. With your instructor’s guidance, learn to melt borosilicate glass using a propane/oxygen torch and create colorful glass pendants. Flamework experience is helpful but not necessary. Course# GLS102.221.01
Note: For ages 16 and above. Please wear natural fiber clothing, closed toe shoes and pull long hair away from face. Pieces will be available for pickup in 48 hours.

Getting Started with Colored Pencil - Online Course

Explore the beauty of drawing with colored pencils in this online course for beginners. Learn everything you need to get started - types of paper, pencils, how to put the color down, layering, and blending. Each session will include a review and demonstration of new techniques. Course#DRW102.220.01
This live Zoom course meets for 90 minutes, 3-4:30 p.m. for four (4) weeks, Feb. 2- 23. A recording of each session will be available for you to view if you are unable to attend a live session. Reference images will be supplied.
It is expected that the student will be able to dedicate time between the sessions.
What you will need:
- 48 count Prismacolor softcore pencils
- One (1) 9”x12” 300 series Strathmore Smooth Bristol Pad
- One Blick colorless blending pen
- Pencil sharpener (electric or manual)
Helpful extras….. Smooth surface to draw on, drawing board 1” or 2” clean, soft paintbrush (for use as a drafting brush)
