Wheel Throwing: Beginner/Intermediate

Calendar Oct 20, 2020 at 2:30 pm, runs for 4 weeks

Learn how to create wheel thrown ceramics in this comprehensive eight-session course designed for both beginner and intermediate students. The basics of the wheel will be introduced. You'll create cylinders, cups, and bowls with attachments - handles for mugs and spouts for pitchers. Toward the end of the course, different glazing techniques will be introduced to complete your work. Course# CER100.120.06

Note: Designed for ages 16 and above. Clay, glazes and kiln firings are included in the course. Currently enrolled students may sign-up for additional studio time as available. 

For your safety, and in accordance with Phase 4 requirements, this workshop is limited to three (3) participants. We follow social distancing and mask guidelines. Masks provided or bring your own.

Cold Connections in Metalsmithing

This four-week course will build upon the metalsmithing techniques you learned in the first metalsmithing class. Students will learn wire rivets, tube rivets, tab settings, and more ways to connect without using a torch! Prerequisite: Metalsmithing for Jewelry Fabrication or permission of instructor. Repeat class to master skills. Course# MTL100.121.01

Simple Glass Pendant Workshop

Calendar Oct 21, 2020 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

Glass sparkles and shines like no other material. With your instructor’s guidance, learn to melt borosilicate glass using a propane/oxygen torch and create colorful glass pendants. Flamework experience is helpful but not necessary. Course# GLS102.120.02

Note: For ages 16 and above. Please wear natural fiber clothing, closed toe shoes and pull long hair away from face. Pieces will be available for pickup in 48 hours.

Handcraft a Personal Notebook

Calendar Oct 23, 2020 at 7 pm

Learn a variety of bookbinding techniques and create four unique notebooks using beautiful mixed media and handmade papers. Notebooks can be used for journaling, recipes, sketching – or anything you like. Use the papers you created in the Mixed Media Paper Designs workshop or any of the sheets provided in class.
