Color Pencil Techniques on Black ( North Classroom)
with Lisa Youngdahl

Join WSS resident artist Lisa Youngdahl explore color pencil on black! This may be your introduction to colored pencil or, if you have already used colored pencil, there are different techniques to learn for drawing on black.
Students will learn both basic colored pencil techniques and adapting these techniques to work on black board. The vivid color against a blackboard will add extra drama to your artwork! Starting with an underlaying drawing, the blending of layers of color will give a painterly quality to the drawings. Students will learn about additional tools that will help achieve the desired effects to their drawing. We will start with a tutorial lesson, then students will work on their own drawings with the guidance of the instructor. Students should bring references and ideas for drawings they would like to create. Students will need to provide their own set of 24 color Prismacolor Premier Pencils. These are available at local art supply stores and Amazon.
*If a repeat session is offered, it could be ongoing for students to continue their projects.
Instructor will provide a tutorial image and help you get started with your own
