ART CAMP: Visual Stories (South Classroom)(Teen 12-16)

Join Visual Stories art camp and create an amazing ART Book all your own! WSS Artist instructor, Lisa Holzl will teach you how to turn your words/lyrics into amazing art!

Students will explore & create a one of a kind accordion booklet using their own writing and journaling as inspiration or students can use lyrics from their favorite poet or musician to inspire the creation of a amazing 'art work book'.

ART CAMP: Animal & Wildlife Art for Young Artists (South Classroom)(age 12-16)

In this art camp led by wildlife illustrator Kelley Cappell, you’ll explore the art of animals and wildlife! Learn to create realistic images of animals/wildlife using different mediums such as colored pencils and acrylic paint. To exercise your creative muscle, you’ll also create your own “imaginary” animal. By the end of the camp, you’ll have completed a drawing and painting to take home.

ART CAMP: Mixed Media for Teens (South Classroom)(12-16)

Join this FUN Art Camp for teens students will explore creating one of kind art work using mixed media techniques with WSS art instructor and resident artist, Lisa Holzl.   

Students will explore and create artwork with texture, pattern, collage, printmaking, stencils, paper, watercolor, & acrylics! Students will also explore upcyling found objects and integrating them into art turning them into unique treasures giving their work depth and texture! Students will also study and explore the work of Gustav Klimt, Austrian master symbolist painter whose rich body of captivating work will serve as inpiration to create new artwork! 

*Class registration fee includes $20.00 of art supplies provided for projects. Masks are optional.


ART CAMP: African Art Exploration Camp (South Classroom) (ages 9 -13)

Learn about beautiful Africa and explore African Art history!  Join this Art Camp and let us travel all over Africa and learn about different types of African art! We will explore African Art History and make art inspired by what we learn!

Art projects will include: Zambia Fabric Bowls, Jewelry from Egypt, Scarab stones from Egypt, Ivory from Congo, & Ivory Coast Mud Paintings.

$20.00 Art Material Fee included in class. Masks are optional.




ART CAMP: Mythical Beasts (South Classroom )(ages 12-16)

Join this camp and awaken your own imagination! Create a 3D mythical beast from your own creative writing. Learn to design your own mythical beast which will  be half human and half animal. Students will get to call the shots by designing and draw your very own brand new creature(s)!

Students will study and review mythical creatures throughout history and art such as unicorns, cyclops, gnomes, gorgons, fairies, leprechauns, mermaids, griffins, sphinx, minotaur’s and more as inspiration to create new CREATURES!

$10.00 art materials fee included in this class. Masks are optional.

ART CAMP: Mural Commission Camp (Teens 14 -18 ) (South Classroom & at Mural Site)

This camp offers a unique opportunity for highschool students to complete and exhibit a public arts project in their community! This is a collaborative project between the fellow students and their client, Wilson Street Mercantile.  As in a professional organization, students will brainstorm the mural concept based on direction from their client.  Then students will discuss individual works and find a way to decide what parts to use and what parts to leave out.  Then they'll create a few painted mural mock-ups from which the client will choose one for the final mural.  Students will then work together to paint the final mural across six 4 x 4' panels.  These panels will be installed on the Wilson Street Mercantile building in Batavia, Il.

Friday Mural Class Celebration!  Parents and guests will be invited to celebrate the new mural  installation 4:30 - 5:30 pm at Wilson Street Mercantile mural site! Ribbon Cutting for new mural at 4:30pm at mural site.
